I am interested in overclocking my CPU, but I don't have that much knowledge of doing such things and I don't want to melt anything in the process.

I have looked up guides but I'm looking for specific instructions on how to overclock my CPU.

My system specifications are as follows;

- MSI X79-GD45 Plus Motherboard
- Intel Core i7 4820k 3.7GHz
- 16GB of kingston RAM
- GTX 770
- Cooler Master Seidon CPU liquid cooler
- Cooler Master 600W power supply
- Phantom 410 computer case

I would ideally like to achieve an overclock to 4.6 but if able up to 4.8GHz.

If more information is required just ask,

Welcome to OCF alex49. Overclocking today is quite simple. Just up your multiplier and test with some stress testing software. If the CPU fails then add a bit of voltage. Just keep an eye on your temps with something like HWMonitor free. Keep it below 90°C and you should be fine.
