My system specs:

-Abit KT7-RAID
-amd thunderbird 1gigahertz
- alpha cooler (Alpha PAL6035 V2 w/ Sunon)
-256 meg pc133 ram
- 1 stick of generic ram ( 128 )
- 1 stick of crucial ram ( 128 )
-2 western digital 20GB ata 100 7200 rpm drives
- running raid level 0
-sb live value
-creative labs 3d annihilator 2 geforce 2

Problem:

Ok in my bios my the cpu fsb/pci clock is set to 100/33, i have pc133 ram, shouldnt it be set to 133/44?? i try to change it to that but when i save settings and restart my machine will not start up. Also in the same soft menu 3 settings, the multiplier factor does nothing to change the clock speed of the chip. Its default setting is 1 gig, but if i set it to 11.5 or 12, it still runs the chip at 1 gig. I also have a setting called cpu fsb plus. Its default is 0, ranging from 0-28, but if i change it to 10, i get 1100 mhz, AND IT DOES RUN AT 1100, unlike the multiplier which does nothing. This is odd that the multiplier doesnt change the speed of the chip but this cpu fsb plus setting does. The other strange thing to me is that the fsb/pci clock ,even with the default settings on chip speed (1gig) the 133/44 setting will not allow the computer to boot up. I would highly appreciate comments on this "strange to me" problem.

one it sounds as though you must not have unlocked your TB read the begginers section on the fromt page. Two the divisor sets your PCI speed and 44 which is a div of 3 gets me hung too something in your sys is sensitive to such a high PCI CLK try the div. of 4 such as 133/33 good luck

he is right, try 133/33 first with multiplier at 8x and it should boot with the default voltage.the memory is at another place set to cas 2,thats for pc133.cas 3 for pc 100,allthough good 100 ram will run at cas 2 it runs at 100 mhz.good luck and watch your temps!

No its should not be set at 133/44 as although it is ok to run the CPU on a 133 mhz FSB the 44mhz PCI speed may cause data corruption and some card will just not like it

, the multiplier factor does nothing to change the clock speed of the chip. Its default setting is 1 gig, but if i set it to 11.5 or 12, it still runs the chip at 1 gig.

Have you unlocked the CPU through the level 1 bridges, so that you can change the multiplier.. look for articles on the front of overclockers.com on how to do this.

The FSB+ changes the fsb in steps of 1 which by getting to 10 means that your system is running on a 110 FSB x 10 multiplier which adds up to the 1100 mhz you obtain

The other strange thing to me is that the fsb/pci clock ,even with the default settings on chip speed (1gig) the 133/44 setting will not allow the computer to boot up. I would highly appreciate comments on this "strange to me" problem.

The fsb/pci clock is there to allow people using CPU's with a 100 mhz FSB and PC-133 ram to run the memory at a higher speed by multipling it with the PCI clock speed. If you are running a FSB higher than 100 mhz you should set the DRAM clock to Host CLK .
