I took a look at the El Cheapo Compaq Pentium MMX 200mhz that's been sitting in my basement untouched for about a year, and discovered that no multiplier or FSB jumpers are on it. I know about SoftFSB, are there any programs like this that would be able to increase the FSB or multiplier?

i don't know of any software multi programs(can you change the multi on this cpu?) but softfsb should have a good chance of getting the fsb up some.

I heard some people say that the multiplier is locked on the MMX chips, but from my experience with P-I CPUs, the multipliers were all unlocked. Compaq uses a proprietory motherboard which sucks, but sometimes they do have multiplier jumpers. If there is any way to change it from 3X66 to 3.5X66, that would give you 233 MHz. Without any FSB settings, that is about all you can expect though.

CPUFSB supports more motherboards. I'll see what I can get the FSB up to on it. I tried both CPUFSB and SoftFSB on my 1ghz T-bird and only CPUFSB worked. I'll try both of them however on my Pentium 200 as soon as I feel like taking my NIC and modem out just to access the motherboard. I hate archiac technology.
