I just got a 64mb DDR VIVO. I downloaded "RadeonTweaker" and started fiddling with all the settings. The card performs well, although under Windows 2000 my 3dmark2k scores suck (5497 tweaked).

Anyway, what is the deal with overclocking? Like, I see people saying "I overclocked my card to 210/210". Can you actually overclock the gpu and the memory to different speeds on the Radeon VIVO? RadeonTweaker looks to have only one slider bar for overclocking. Also, what is a safe overclock without having to increase the cooling on the stock card? I have 4 case fans and my system temp stays at 31 or 32 even under load. Right now it is overclocked to 191mhz I think. Is the default 183?

Thanks as always..

My Radeon LE defaults at 148, but will run stable at 200. I usually run it at 170. I don't want to really stretch the card unless I'm benchmarking.

you can use a prog to clock the mem and gpu to different speeds but you find like i did that the results are horrible at best. try to keep them within 5mhz of eacjh other

5500 or so is usual for the Radeon's 3DMark2K score because it is a 16 bit test. If you change to 32bit you will get essentially the same score. Yes, even the Geforce2 MX scores higher in 3DMark2000 than the Radeon.

If you want a real comparison of the Radeon's features use 3DMark2001.

Adding cooling to the Radeon doesn't do that much because the chip already runs very cool. You CAN set the clocks to run asynchronously, but you take a major performance hit when you do.
