I have an Abit KT7 Raid mb with 1ghz T-Bird socket a. I bought an ALPHA PAL6035 (supposed to fit right? not!). I had to modify the fan housing by grinding down the fan frame at two points that were touching two resistors. Now my cpu temps have actually gone UP. There are at 50c and 51c under load. Before with stock fan they were at 48 peak under load. Any suggestions? I did not remove the "legs" off of the cpu only the center touches the heatsink. In the photo you can see where I ground the plastic frame for the fan.
