Overkill? Or a good case to play with.

At first I was looking into getting the new Koolance case, but last moment I changed my mind. So then I decide I want a case where I have plenty of room to put in a good solid water cooling system.

I will have 5 hard drives, and plan to overclock a little bit, nothing monsterous or anything. So here is the case I was looking into:

Overkill? Or is there such a thing?

that seems goof. plenty of room and the heat dispertion
should be good. especially when you have 5 HDD's creating
all that heat.

make sure to have HDD coolers or some type of fan blowing
on your HDD for those seem to create lots of heat.

Overkill ?? what's that ?? Hehe I'm a firm believer in having an enormous case. I've got a full tower case and it's filled to the brim.

In the end it's your decision. I would keep in mind a few things

-future expansion planns
-will it fit in the space where you want to put it
-can you stand to look at it
-extra places for fans and added cooling
-sturdyness nothing like a wimpy case



By looking at the link you showed us That looks like a cool case. I think you should fare well with it. ther's lots of open air space which is a good thing. it allows the air to circulate around to keep things cooled off. there's 14 5 1/4 bays LOL that's enough and it will take 7 80mm fans...that's more then enough to keep all those hard drives happy. Looks like a good choice to me...as long as your happy with the way it looks Go for it.


Check out ebay to see what they have for full tower cases...that might be easier on the wallet...I just saw the price on that case OUCH that's a lot of lunch money.

when buying a case ALWAYS buy it larger than what you need, cuz you will probably need it in the future. i wish i bought the full tower chemning case, cuz i wanna add a few things to mine but theres no room oh well. it still looks damn sexy

Wow, thanks for the great welcome everyone!

I'm pretty sure this is the case I'm going to go with. Plenty of room for any kind of upgrade I want to put in it, or mod I'd like to do.

Think I may try and put a window in the side and paint it a different color though.

Anyone know where I can get a case like the one that Lopus was showing only in black and cheaper? Lopus, thats a great case, especially if you will want to go water cooling and have all them hard drives.

First thing you want to do is check out the inside before you buy. These cubes aren't just a wide-open box, there are two separate sides, kind of like two midtowers put together. You have the mobo, and intake fans, sometimes a couple of drive cages on one side, then the PSU and drive cages on the other.

Rivercom9, try the link directron for a black server case for $179. This includes a generic 300watt PSU and 3 fans. I just bought. It looks to be almost identical to the one at Case Outlet model YY-0221 but that is $199.
