P3 1000 Normal Operating Temp?

Just installed a new slot1 P3 1000 cpu. No ocing yet...running at FSB=100. So far temps have been hovering at around 31 C and have gone up to 40 C during 3DMark tests. Having come off the heels of my oc'd 550E@853 running an average 27 C, with a max of 34, this seems odd to me. The 550 had a nice hs/f, while the 1000 is using stock cooling. Just wondering if the temps I'm seeing are reasonable for this non-oc'd processor.

It's normal temperature. I had a PIII 733MHZ, about the same temperature range as your 1GHZ PIII. That's a good temperature already. ALL my P4 systems have at least 35*C stock speed during idle.

Good temps!
I had a slot P3 1ghz oc'ed a little, to about 1.2 ghz.
I had a good after market air cooler and I still hit the low 50's c when using it hard. You're good to go!
