Just playing around with my new rig. Still waiting on WD 74GB Raptor. It should be here Thursday. At the time I posted this
it was the fastest score for a P4 @ 3.2GHz or less with an ATI 9800XT.
I got this score with 3.9 Cats and DX 9.0b. I OC'd my 9800XT but nothing extreme. I could probably pick up another 1000 points if I benched with earlier Cats and DX 8.1 and maybe a little more if I pushed the 9800XT a little harder.
System Specs:
Intel Pentium 4 -2.4C CPU @ 3.12GHz (260 FSB)
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe MB Rev 2.0
1 GB (2 x 512MB) Mushkin Level 2 Black PC3500 DDRAM @ 416MHz 2-2-2-5-4
ATI Radeon 9800XT AGP Video Card w/256MB RAM
Lian-Li PC-65 USB Case w/Plexiglas Window
Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu Aluminum/Copper CPU Cooler
Zalman ZM-MFC1 Six Channel Multi Fan Speed Controller
Enermax EG465AX-VE (W)FCA 460w PSU
Seagate 40 GB IDE HD (Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000 RPM
SATA HD w/8 MB Buffer on order)
Antec Cobra F16 Round FDD Cable Model 77216
Lite On LTR-52327S Black 52x32x52 CD-RW Drive, 2MB Cache
Panasonic 1.44 MB Black Floppy Disk Drive
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound w/99.9% Pure Silver
(4) Cooler Master TLF-R82-E1 80x80mm Blue Neon LED Fans w/Rifle Bearings
Windows XP Pro SP1a
Logitech Optical Mouse
Sony 19in Multiscan 400PS Aperture Grill Monitor
And last but not least, the real gem of my system - A Rare Vintage IBM “Industrial” Trackpoint II Buckling Spring PS/2 KB Part No. 06H4173. If you think the old IBM Buckling Spring Keyboards were built like a battleship, you should see this thing. It's
actually the color of a battleship and weighs over 5 pounds! You've heard of "Muscle Cars"? Well this is the "Muscle Keyboard"! It's may be loud and obnoxious but nothing else feels like it. I've got two others new in the box, just in case something ever happens to this one. I would not sell them for
$200 ea (and believe it or not, there are people who would pay that for one).
