I'm considering setting up another system for my son and would like to know If I'm going to need all the fans I currently have now to keep a P4 cpu cool? I don't mind the noise on my pc since it's in my study room, but his pc will be in his bedroom.
What are the average temps of an Intel P4?
I most probably will not overclock it.

If your not overclocking it, the retail heatsink and good thermal paste will do fine. P4 I believe puts out half the heat as the AMD, but when their overclocked they put out as much heat as AMD.

You could probably, give him a lapped Intel HSF + AS3, and two VERY quiet case fans. It should keep him very well at stock.
