Will someone look over their board and see if this chip is on it?
Plenty of you guys own this board so someone must know what they own.

I want to know if I can volt mod this board without modding the CPU itself.

Thanks

I'd like to know myself - I've been looking to volt mod my P4TE, but I don't see any voltage reg chip.

Asus *may not* be using the HIP 6301 chip to regulate voltage.

But, there HAS to be a voltage chip on the board.

If we could get some makes and numbers of the chips on the board, we could look it up and find the Feedback pin on the right one.

This would help many.

I was looking at a pic of the board. There seems to be a chip under the AGP slot on the right side of the PCI slots.

There is one that looks like it could definitely be it right on the right side of the AGP slot.

I think there is a couple on the left side of the AGP slot too down
at the same level as the first one I mentioned.

Also there are couple above the 3 capacitors that are above the AGP slot.

These all look very promising.

The one just beneath the right side of the AGP slot is almost definitely the board's main clock generator. It is marked ICS CK120805. The two tiny chips above the 3 caps are marked ADP3165. There's also a chip to the right of the 3 caps that are next to the atx power connector. It is marked SC1102CS. There's nothing on the board that starts with HIP.

I found the VRM.

It's the ADP3165

Thing is it's rated for 1.85v and overvolt protection might kick in
at 1.87v if there is no overhead.

The closest I found was the ADP3164 on the www.analog.com site. But it's got to be the same chip or a new rev. No other chip on the board comes close to being a VRM.

If that link is down go here and look for the 3164 chip.

FB pin is 9. My friend tells me the FB on this chip might not be enough to adjust it but it's worth a try if you're speculative.

Doesn't sound like it's worth fooling with, especially since I'm planning on selling this board.

If you're going to sell it, forget it.

Tell me, why are you selling it? Not very good?

Mainly because the TH7II has a bios that provides more voltage options without the need for modding the board, and some versions of it have better drcg chips which affects how well the ram overclocks. Other than that it's fine.

Better drcg's?

You don't have the 9212-13's on yours?

I have not seen ONE TH7-II with those drcg's on it.

The only ones I tracked down were the 400mhz
9212-03's.

You've seen a TH7-II with -13 drcg's?

Nope I've got the cypress chips on mine - rated for 400. I had a TH7II before I got my northwood and I could never overclock my old willy high enough for the drcg's to be an issue. I never checked to see what chips mine had. Some other guys here have the TH7II with the 533, 500, 400 chips. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to why.
