yeah i think i figured what my problem was when i was trying to overclock

i started core temp

and i got that as the following results

cpu2py6.jpg

So im guessing my temperature sensors are completely wrong...

because when i put my hand on the cpu its not even CLOSE to be hot..

(temperature above are at idle).

is there a way to fix it?

(because when i overclock my computer im getting reboots into the windows logon because my sensor thinks my CPU is overheating which is not)

thats my guess..

i tried multiples program to see the temp such has speedfan everest etc etc.. says 85-90 celcius which is completely wrong.

if your rebooting you are over heating remount your hsf make sure your not using to much tim or to little. and have good air flow in your case fresh in hot air out
Rich

heres the thing if the cpu was really at this temperature he would be dead by now hes been running for days at 90+ degree (according at the core temp)

but here is another thing

cpu3nf5.jpg

i do not quite understand whats up with that

quite low system temp

and the CORE temperature is at 47 im kinda confused..

Yea I completely agree with the remount.

I certainly have no personal experience with bad temp sensors on a mobo, but I would think the likelyhood that you have a bad mount is FAR greater than a temp sensor issue.

Remount, clean your surfaces, retim and see how it goes.

Also, take pictures of your CPU and your contact area on your HSF before you clean the tim off so we can see what your core contact is like.

good luck!

Coretemp does not read from a motherboard's temp sensor. It reads from sensors on the physical die of the cpu. Thus, if the temps were off by a large margin I would be RMA'n my cpu.

Ahhh no kiddin? Learn something new every day.

Speedfan reads the same sensors correct? And I assume TAT as well?

I have no idea, I know my speedfan was 15C off of coretemp's reported temperature. So, I just offset speedfan's so I can get a rough approximation of my cpu temp at any given time.*

*I have speedfan up to control my 2x120mm 120CFM fans.

Yea...speedfan sometimes uses the wrong TJmax and you need to adjust by 15C.

If you changed it by 15C you should be just as accurate as Coretemp. Check the TJmax for the CPU you are using, and then compare to what Speedfan has set and that will likely be the reason for the discrepancy.
