I own ...still .. a prescott and everest told me the pae is not enabled, capable but non enabled, where can I change this?

I think PAT shuts off at higher fsbs. That might be why it's not working for you.
 
Unless you are running more then 4GB of RAM dont worry about it

It should be in the BIOS under an option like "Hardware/Software Support 4GB mapping" Something like that. (Thats how it is on my AMD motherboard...

Oh and if you use VMWare, you need to ad something to the ini to allow it to run on PAE systems :)

(They might have fixed that in the latests builds)

EDIT: if you have it set up in BIOS and windows doesnt fix the boot.ini file add /PAE to the line
