Wrong forum but anyway - you are limited by the cpu in this instance - pallies dont overclock very far - especially those such as XP2000 with higher multis which you cant adjust unless you close all the L1's

Unlock and drop the multiplyer to 9 or 8.5. Those CPU's top out around 1800mhz usually.

Hmm i cant agree totally with above statements. Here are my result with my pally;

Athlon XP1700+ Palomino
AX1700DMT3C
AGOIA0216RPKW
95138070113
Max OvrClk 1913Mhz

This frequency was achieved with combo of 8.5x223.

What suprised me the most abt this pally was that i could get it to 1870mhz at default volts, after that even pumping 2.1volts into the CPU would get it no higher then 1913mhz stable. It as if i hit a brick wall.

The above results were done with the setup in my sig.

Like people are saying, you may have hit the CPU's limit. Can we see some more info about your system? What is your multiplier and voltage? Even if you run into a wall with pure CPU speed, you can unlock and lower the multi, so you can raise up the FSB and squeeze some more performance out of the system.

rofl thats funny
my 2000+
on my other pc stock fans stock everything
MSI mobo Fuzzylogic overclocker tool for windows can even get a 1900mhz out of it lol thats pretty amazing actually with stock everything not that i left it overclocked but i mean ppl could probly push that cpu to like 2000actuall mhz easy with some of there manny talents

I have AMD Athlon xp 1600+ running at 160 FSB and 10.5multi. 1.7ghz and running very stable.

There are always exceptions, and there were a lot of pallies that did 2GHz, but most were on watercooling and lots of voltage. The people who point out about the 1.8GHz limit is the palominos' average top speed, some will go to or over 2Ghz some will crap out at 1.7GHz... You can never know w/o checking the stepping, same as with the TbredBs, the latest AGOIAs could reach 2GHz with the right cooling, mobo and voltage.
