... But most of the time it restarts when i turn my pc on and log into msn. :S :(

Guyssss :( My pc is still restarting.. Ive updated the bios, i dont know what to do now =\ and when i start up the pc .. after the bios screen it says Updating data pool .. update succesfull :S

Im confused again

Could it be that because one of my sensors on the motherboard are messed up, and reads false temps (because it does), as shown on one of my other post TMPIN2 idles around 78 :S and is always at 78. And it might go up sometimes to 80.. and in my bios my CPU failure warning is set at 80 degrees :S I dont know :(

Please try everything suggested above before giving up. Come back and post when you have. Oh and why did you change your MB in the first place?

I changed motherboards because i had a dell pc and i gradually upgraded each bit, now my pc isnt a dell :) , anyway, my pc has not been restarting from the last time i posted, i think its because i unplugged one fan from my fan controller ???? :S Couldve this been the issue?

My el cheapo board did this, the southbridge was overheating.
Find the northbridge and southbridge heatsinks on the mobo, and after the comp has been running for a bit touch them lightly and briefly. If either one is HOT, there's your issue.
Be warned, the northbridge can still be functioning at a heat level that will roast your finger if you touch it for very long. The southbridge probably can too.

Something on the motherboard must be the issue. Try reinstalling the heatsink also. 40-50 idle temps is actually pretty high.

What is your heatsink?

It's the motherboard. I have a dell Motherboard and mine was doing the same thing. It was actually showing 80c. I thought it was bogus as well. I bought an e6400 off the board here and now my TMP2 sensor only shows 30c. So my quad was defiantly heating up that bridge way too much.

Invest in a decent board is my .02cents. I took my quad core and put it in another board (GA-EP45-UD3L) and havent seen the TMP2 sensor over 54c even oc'd to 3.4ghz. So its defiantly the board.

Well, i felt my NB and SB , they arent even hot. I reckon the NB heatsink isnt on properly

Whats wrong with it? Is it possible to buy a new one? because mine is a gigabyte one and it kinda looks like i can take it off

thanks for the suggestion, i'll try it 2morrow after school and let you know how it goes.

coming too around about 10-11 months, i bought it from a good friend of mine that was upgrading so he didnt need this one therefore i bought it off him. And he only used it for like 3 months..

ok... ive felt around my computer, NB and SB .. they arent even "OUCHH .. TOO HOT" .. its just... normal and warm, i was thinking that i might have faulty ram?

Run memtest and see if it finds anything....the longer you let it run the better
