Hi

I run fsb 125 MHz with this Intel 815 ep chipset motherboard.

Can it be right that pci divider is 1/3 up to fsb 133, and 1/4 from 133 and above.

I have run so for several weeks now, with a maxtor 40G fluid IDE ata133 harddisk, 7200 rpm.

How about agp ?

I thought that dividers was changed by 124 MHz fsb.

Anyone who can state what is right and wrong ?

best regards

John

Hi

Well, I have accepted that it is so with Intel 815ep chipset.

It corresponds exactly to what tomshardware describes for asus tusl2 with the same chipset:
http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/01q4/011003/duel-11.html

So I did the following to solve the problem:

1) bought a celeron 1000A for msi 815ept board. It now spinns with fsb 145 MHz, - so I have 1450 MHz. Cpu voltage is 1.675 volt.

2) bought an abit vh6t motherboard with via 694t chipset. This board has 1/4 as pci divider from fsb 124 and upwards. So my celeron 1200 now spinns 12x125=1500 MHz with cpu voltage 1.725 volt. It is rock stable and can install windows xp at that speed.

I am quite happy with these machines.

But it is almost action-time for me to buy some ddr ram, and try the same with a P4 northwood [email protected].

best regards

John
