Hi i have a bfg OC2 8800 gtx PCI express 16x video card and was wondering if i could upgrade to a geforce gtx 295 PCI express 16x 2.0. I have a q6600 quad core cpu but not sure what motherboard it is since i purchased it from best buy. is there a way to check via computer control panel or what not?

A GTX295 will run in a PCIe 1.0 slot...

To check motherboard download a program called CPUz and look under the mainboard tab... it will tell you what motherboard you have...

PCIe is forward and backward compatible, which is to say you can use a 1.x card in a 2.0 mobo or a 2.0 card in a 1.x mobo.
