I was thinking of getting the M-Audio audiophile 24/96 pci card or the
M-audio transit USB card.
I prefer the Audiophile because of the RCA outputs but will the usb card be better for interference reasons?
I have been having all kinds of problems with interference with my Audigy LS
and wonder if other pci cards are likely to get this?

do you have digital imputs on your receiver?

I've used both, and tried using USB for multitrack home recording, and it bombed out. The USB 2.0 interface has a lot of latency which is evident when you're pushing the spec.

It played everyday DVDs and mp3s/cds fine, but once it had to WORK, the Audigy 2 NX didn't cut it. I'm back to a desktop with an Audigy 2.

The audiophile 2496 is a very high quality card. I get absolutely no noise problems or any kind of hiss inside my computer case with either the analog or digital outputs.

Well,I picked up a SB mp3+ usb card for cheap.Beleive it or not,it sounds just as good as the Audigy LS 24/96 with no interference. It has its own 16 bit d/a converters that do a nice job.

Later on I think I'll upgrade to the M-audio transit 24/96.But I dont see a reason yet because this lil thing sounds great.
