Have any of you seen and or used this??
Its new from madonion or so they say, but i was wondering if any of you have used this PCMARK2002 and what are your impressions of it??
I'm just downloading it to see what it is and what it tests.

i downloaded is and ran it twice. I guess i scored ok- there aren't really enough scores up yet to get a good comparison and to see where you stand. I do like the idea on it though- it might not be 3dmark but i think it will catch on.

I just got done running it. I was submitting a new 3dmark2k1 score and went to browse... I saw that they had PCmark score browsing... so I downloaded that. I like it. It showed me some areas that REALLY need tweaked. My harddrive benches did pretty good... but others scores seem to blow the other areas away... my processor was beaten by an 800+ mhz P3... Here's compare url for my first and only bench so far. Let me know what you guys have. I'd love to see FOR sure what needs tweaked... I don't know those people on madonion so I don't know it they did something to they're score. But after comparing with someone here we can collaborate and improve OUR systems together;)

Compare to me....

someone's jacking the scores

I saw the last 2 posts and I am way above on most - comparable to your hd scores on my backup drive ( non raid ata100).
Somebody is screwing with this thing as people are getting 13000 on hd! I looked at the details and they are getting 1gb/sec+ on the file transfer ( all of us are getting 8-10mb) , but the rest of their details are close to mine !

There appears to be a flaw in the cpu id as it showed my 11x155 and 11.5x150 as both being 1680. However bios, sisoft and WCPUID all showed the correct and wcpuid did it in real time as well. Noted this to Madonion.

Yeah I saw that one earlier tonight. At first I was shocked/disappointed, then I started laughing! It was the first one in the comparison when I logged in.. There are definately some issues with the test...

yup, mine posts as a celyy, but actually a p3. Does this on 3dmark also.

compare

oh ya, and have you all notice, at least i have, that the unchached file write is always the same no matter who u compare to, mine was 7.6, then just above it was 26.7 to match the comparers score

go figure

and no madonion benches are multithreaded, so it only benched 1 of the p3's i got. :(:(

shall i say so buggy on 2k that it wont even install. tryed two differnet servers. it starts then says file is curropt make sure you get a correct version. 1 came from www.download.com the other from one of madonion trusted links.

wish i could test it out

HDD score

Starfox: I was getting only 672 when I 1st ran PCmark for my HDD score. I soon discovered that I only had an ATA33 IDE cable(the one that came with the AK31!). Count the wires on you IDE cable, make sure the # is 80, not 40. Check and make sure your drive is running at ATA100 in your device manager. Your score should be higher.

my wires are ata133 compatible or sumthin like that, so
i don't thin it's that, it's the silver braided rounded ones.

and me drive is at ATA100. i think that's odd. maybe a defrag
and then i'll run the test again. thanks anyways Akraine :p

.

Hard drive score also depend on how much free space you have left. One of my system has a Western Digital 7200RPM 20.5GB hard drive, and it had only about 500MB free space left, it got only 280 points on Hard drive score. After I deleted some files, the free space went up to 1.3GB, then the hard drive score went up to 490. I believe it can go higher if there are more free space. And also, that hard drive was connected to the mobo with only an ATA66 cable. That also lowered the score.
