I ordered a peltier and it should be coming in any day. I also have this 370 Watt PSU sitting here and was wondering which 12 volt line would be best to power the pelt?

I know the 4-pin P4 connector provides 12 volts, as well as the 4-pin molex connectors, and the 20 pin atx connector.

Can I combine all of the 12 volt rails in parallel and power the pelt that way?

I tried searching, but couldn't find anything specific enough.

PSUs only supply one source of 12v, usually. It matters not which 12v connector you power it from, so most people use molexes.

yup! but i might suggest taking off all the lines with a soldering iron and soldering in new 12-14 gauge wires that are a bit heavier. i've heard reports of people having their lines get really hot, sometimes melting and smoking. so thats no good. good wireing is your friend when your cpu depends on it.

*STOP*

What TEC are you using? 226W? if so that PSU will not work and could catch on fire!. Chech the amp requirements of the TEC and check the AMPs the PSU can handle.

No, it's a 160 Watt Peltier.

I replaced the stock fans on the PSU with way stronger 80mm and 92mm fans to keep it cooler.

(I don't plan on using the pelt to cool my CPU. I just got it to experiment)
