I cant get the pen to actually apply anything but a little residue every now and then, I just use a pin to do the traces anyways but I was just wondering how u r supposed to use it, I press it straight down and at an angle but it doesnt come out

Did you shake it real good? That stuff settles real bad.

As YahooDave said, you want to shake the piss out of it. Make sure that you tap the tip of the pen fairly hard to make sure you free the mixing balls before you shake it. it sounds like you haven't got it mixed well, but with a Microtip pen, you won't get a lot out of the tip anyway.
