P2's only range from 233-450
So if anyone every tells you its a P2 and it doesnt fit in that range.... you know they are lieing....

For SECC P2's the speed of the CPU is on the top line of code(at the end), It is the 3 numbers before 512 (L2 cache)

For SECC 2 P2's, its the 1st thing printed on the CPU

If you can ID the CPU yourself, you dont have to worry about people telling you what it isnt

There is no such thing as Pentium II 500

Are you sure you got ripp off or did you fail to read the AD carefully?

I know in ASIA, alot of vendor sell "overclock" chip speed.

The good thing is that they would indicated that is is the overclock speed, not the actual speed.

They can also sell you the "untested" cpu at lower price.
But you take your chance here of not getting a cpu with good overclockability.

Oh well, you got took lol. What I would do in your case is install it, and OC the heck out of it. That chip should do 300-350 pretty easily. Possibly higher. It shouldnt be a bad cpu as it should have MMX technology and run most things you throw at it pretty well. Get it OC'ed and it will do even better. Have fun with it and make the most of your loss.
