Does anyone here own this case? The question is are the brushed aluminum shrouds (upper and lower) removable? I would like a black case with silver shrouds, but apparently they are only sold in two configurations...white/silver or black/black. It appears the only recourse is to paint them the desired color or buy one of each and swap the pieces...assuming they are indeed removable. I think both versions would look better with their respective shrouds swapped.

Painting would be my least preferred method, but then again I hate the thought of buying two of the same cases just to make one no matter how much I like the case lol.

I don't have that case but I have two other Phanteks cases and pretty much every piece can be removed on both. They make extremely versatile cases. Worse case you might need to drill out a couple rivets.

Decided to take a chance on it and ordered the Black version. Going to try some oven cleaner first to strip the anodizing off the shrouds...worst case scenario is having to paint them if that does not work out.

I have the Evolv (original) ITX and it is still one of my favorite cases, ITX or otherwise.

My favorite thing about Phanteks cases is all the extras they come with. Both of mine have come with tons of extra screws and pieces so it can be customized to my liking. Some companies offer a way to change the drives or orientation but the parts have to be bought separately where Phanteks includes the parts.

Well, you were all correct. Over a hour and a gazillion screws later I managed to get it all apart...no rivets were involved in the process. Going to be a fun day putting this all back together, but I think in the end it will prove to have been the right decision.

What a utter disappointment...can't use my M-ATX motherboard in this case. I failed to notice when I ordered the case that it only supports ATX back connector motherboards...never had this restriction with any other case I have built in. The area highlighted by the yellow tape is completely covering the back headers on one edge of the board. Ridiculous for the manufacturer to not have relieved that area given that the case was designed for both ATX and M-ATX. A lot of work and the case is useless to me. $500 for a ATX motherboard just to use this case? Homie don't think so... :ROFLMAO: https://www.newegg.com/p/1JW-000J-008Z4

Seems all is not lost. Since I could not use my preferred motherboard in this case I went in another direction. I had a ASRock B650 Livemixer mb on hand and threw it inside along with the ASRock 9070. I had a fellow show up this morning looking to buy one of my specific pc's, but when talking with him about his intended usage (gaming/streaming) I steered him towards this one. He agreed and I'm certain it was the correct choice for his needs...nothing needing reconfiguring. Alas, I neglected to take a single photo of the completed rig before he loaded it in his vehicle lol. Components installed:

Phanteks Evolv 2 case

Zuma cpu cooler

48GB 7200 DDR5 memory

2TB SSD

Ryzen 9 9900X cpu 12 core/24 threads

ASRock B650 LiveMixer motherboard

Be Quiet 850W psu

ASRock 9070 gpu

Phanteks vertical gpu mount

(6) Thermaltake SWAFAN's

Windows 11 Pro

USB wifi antenna

He promised to send me a photo of the rig after he gets it set-up...if the photo(s) are good enough I will edit and post them.

Here it is...said he would let me know the performance figures. Sales price was $2100...lost maybe $100 on it in total. The young man was actually too trusting and did not ask enough questions, so I stepped up and posed several questions of my own and gave insight as to pros/cons of three different computers I had to offer. I could tell he was not too tech savvy or comfortable with the building side of these things. He now has one he should never have to crack open for several years for anything other than routine cleaning.

I regret not not getting more finished pictures of this build before it disappeared and I feel it is important to note something of a concern for anyone considering this case. The $100 gpu bracket they provided does in fact bolt in as it should...however once a gpu is introduced onto the bracket it sags enough to contact the outermost fan blade and prevents it from spinning. Those considering this need to be aware you will have to come up with a creative way of introducing some type of spacer/wedge to prevent this sag.
