Phenom 9500 power fluctuation! any ideas

Hi,

Just launched my asus cool and quiet and noticed the cpu frequency is jumping from 1100.00 MHz to 2200.00 MHz every few seconds. I downloaded CPU-Z just to cross reference it with that and its doing the same thing any ideas what may be causing it? im running a AMD phenom 9500 on a ASUSm2a-vm board if that helps. Cheers

Its AMD's Cool and Quiet kicking in.

That is not only keeping your processor's life longer, but its saving you're electricity bill too.

When you need all 2.2GHz then it will run consistently at 2.2GHz. When you do small time work such as simple browsing or type an essay, it will run at 1.1GHz because it doesn't need to run as fast.

Keep it as it is and you are saving money and keeping your processor's longevity strong.

Yes nothing to worry about

Everything is positive with Cool and Quiet. The only time it should ever be turned off is when you are trying to determine stability problems in overclocking once all other factors have been eliminated.
