are phillips cdrws any good. i need one today and there selling a 32x10x40 for 150 at staples. i have had a cheap acer that has been nothing but trouble from the start so im looking to avoid a similer situation. what do you guys think? thanks in advance

had a philips and have nothing but praise for it, gave me no troubles and was quiet too. But, i second the motion from cooler. For a little bit cheaper you can get a better lite-on drive.

I've used a Philips CDRW drive before, and I can't really complain about the performance of it; it was decent. The thing was loud as heck though.

cool thanks guys it always makes me part with cash easyier when i check in here first. i think im going to go for it. they dont carry the light on burners anywere i called and i cant wait for the mail. my accer is so messed its giving i/o errors now. thanks again

I have a phillips cdrw and have had no problems at all. I use it as my primary ROM drive and seems to work fine.


HOWEVER, you can get the drive at Best Buy for less, I paid $129 or so for mine and that was three months ago.
