I'm looking for a replacement photo organizer similar to ACDSee 8 Pro (or 3 Pro) that can handle a multitude of files and folders, various file types, tag photos with keywords for easy searching, and handle (ie be able to show thumbnails and search within) zip and/or rar archives.
I'd stick with ACDSee, but 8 Pro (my long time fav) refuses to work with Win 7 64, and 3 Pro just can't handle the amount of files I need to work with and keeps locking up if I goto the top most folder (looks like it chokes to death trying to read all the files in all the folders). I could separate everything into multiple top level folders (ie, drive:\1, drive:\2, drive:\3, etc) if I can't find anything comparable to ACDSee, but I'd rather keep the basic organization I have right now at the folder level.
I know Win 7 has a basic photo organizer built in, but its not what I'm looking for and doesn't have all the goodies I'm used to (mainly setting up categories besides just tagging with keywords, and full screen previews/review on the 2nd monitor, work with zip folders).
Btw, I'm not rich, so Lightroom is out of the question! It doesnt fit my requirements either way.
