PII -266MHz

my pentium II 266 mhz keeps shutting itself down - in variety of software programs sometimes only minutes after startup other times after a couple of hours. What do u suggest could be cause? solution?
it's driving me nuts!!

Way to vague. Could be anything. Overclocking it at all?

Tell us as much about it as you can.

Is your fan still in working order, sounds like that could be the problem, if the fan dies the chip will get too hott and the computer will sometimes shut itself off because of that.
