I've read this sticky-thread about "vid - pining", and tried myself to add a little more "juice" to my P3 cumine. I have ASUS TUSL2-C and FC-PGA2 PIII Coppermine [email protected] at 1.8v (since I only have this 2 options in BIOS to set: 1.75v default, and 1.8v), and I wondered could I get more Mhz if I add an extra voltage?

BUT, WITH VID - PIN TRICK (PINHOLE) THAT IS DESCRIBED IN THAT WELL KNOWN ARTICLE, I GET FOLLOWING RESULTS (READ FORM HARDWARE MONITOR IN BIOS):

- VID1 to VSS:

1.1V, should be 1.85V

- VID2 to VSS:

1.2V, should be 1.95V

- VID1, VID2 to VSS:

1.3V, should be 2.05V (at default FSB - 133 @ 1000Mhz 3D mark works well with just heatsink from FOP32, and no fan at all, and I haven't try other FSB :):):):) at 1.3V????????????????)

.....AND I DON'T HAVE OPTION TO CHANGE VCORE IN BIOS AT ALL. IT IS SIMPLY GONE??????

HAVE I MADE A MISTAKE HERE?

You have a bad board for the cumine as vcores onl;y goto 1.825v on that mobo unless you doa extreme vmod.

So you say that I can't get voltage higher than 1.825 unless.....?

Can I do anything about it?

I hear that 1009(??) BIOS will let you go to 2.1 Vcore with a TUSL2. Not sure since I never tried it myself.

I tried 1009 BIOS and it lets you set the vcore above form 1.7-2.1, but I think that those above 1.8 are fake, 'cause when I try them computer freezes after detecting IDE devices.
I believe 'vidpining' wouldn't change anything also. Is it possible to get vcore above 1.8v on this mobo at all?

I believe the maximum that VRM 8.5 calls for is 1.825V so I don't believe many Tualatin ready boards will go above this. The mobo makers would probably have to go out of their way to put chips/circuits that would allow anything greater than this.
