Welcome to the forums!
Do you have the HD pluged into the ATA100 controler or in the motherboards controler. The connector for the ATA100 is to the left of the flopy connector not the one right above it. In the bios you should have the fourth boot device as the ATA100. If you are booting into windows I think you have the cable pluged into the wrong place. Let me know if this doesn't work for you.

thank you for replying bender i will try what u said and get back to if it works or not lucks

Did as you said it booted up fine but did not detect any hd for the primary and hd scores are pretty low around 16000 any ideas

It didn't detect a HD for the primary on what channel, the promise ATA100 or the motherboards. Chanel 1 on the promise is the blue plastic connector. If your scores are low you can try using the via 4 in 1 drivers and the promise drivers if you haven't done so already.

sandra reports incorrectly with the kt133a, get the latest patch and you should be alright

The ATA100 connectors utilize the Promise Bios on the Promise chip so the Main bios will not recognize the HD on the Promise controlled connectors and visa versa.

What are the repercusions to the statement you made above? OR does it matter that the Main bios is not recognizing the hd on the promise controller?

No real repercussions, just don't expect to see any information on a HD hooked to the ATA100 connectors when you go to the system Bios. You will observe a message from the Promise chip about the HDs hooked to the ATA100 connectors after it runs thru the system bios during boot.

The Promise ATA100 connectors and chip onboard are equivalent functionally to having a non-raid board with a Promise ATA100 card plugged into a slot it is just hardwired to the board.

If in the system bios you go to the "Boot" menu the ATA100 slots are listed (boot order wise) as "Other Boot Device [SCSI/Onboard ATA Boot Device]"

Hope this clarifies some things. 8)

Thanks very much everybody i got it running sweet although the via bus ide is faster then the promise ata100 ohwell no biggy thnx for all your help
