Can someone give me a little more info about the AMD pencil trick.

What I would like is some indebt info about WHAT TYPE of pencil you should use. Is this just regular pencil or a special one that needs to be purchased at a electronics store. ?

From what I've researched I've come to the conclusion that it is just a regular pencil but I need to know for sure before I start ripping the pc apart today.

I have a ECS K7S5A and Duron 800, trying for 10x100, 1.85v.

Thanks
Wayne

I don't think the K7S5A will allow you to change multiplyers

Your right about that one...

But from all the research I've been doing.. I think I've discovered that I can change the mutipler right on the Duron chip. I could be wrong... but well I'm going to find out real soon. I just got back from the store, picked up some #3 pencil's, took some screen shots of important stuff needed to know during this operation, transfered them to my other pc, finish reading and posting on the subject....

Here we go....

Wish me luck! I'll post back later (or in a few days) with the results, whichever comes first. Hopefully later today but if not that means I'm off to buy a new processor.
