I currently have an Abit KD-7 mobo,and it is really flawed and bugged.The other problem is that I have an Athlon 2800+,with 1GB of Corsair XMS PC3200 ram,so the KD-7 doesnt take advantage of the faster 400mhz. Can you guys offer some ideas on a good motherboard that is stable,yet has descent OCing ability. I dont need on-board sound or on-board video. I also dont need on-board LAN. I dont have anything that can utilize a firewire port,and I have one built into my Audigy.Thanks alot!

I would suggest and Epox 8rda+ or an Abit NF7-S
Both can be had for a reasonable amount and both have dual channel mode...with overclockability

stability...added voltage options...will support 200FSB (400Mhz) without modding the h*ll out of it...added mounting holes around the CPU socket...better overclocking MB all around...
The NF7 doesn't have all of the extra things you mentioned in your post...the NF7-S has everything that you mentioned you didnt need, except onboard video...neither have on board video...which you dont want anyways...the on board video for the NF2 MB's equal a GF4 MX400 video card
...either one, you still want the rev 2.0...

Also,would you guys mind putting a link to the exact mobo your reffering to at newegg? I only ask because when I do a search at newegg for those mobos....I get 5-6 different versions. Thanks again!

Think he was saying that the NF7 doesn't have the sound and the extras that you were refering too. So that would be a good choice for you rather then the NF7-S that has all the bells and wistles. But hes right, make sure it's v2.0 and you should be good to go.

yeah it is......I think says 400fsb on there so I asume that it is.
Guess I forgot that one does have the sound........but you can juss disable it if ya wanna it juss doesn't have SATA
