A 5900XT would be about the same as a 9800pro. The 9800pro could be just a little bit faster than the 5900 in some cases, but it's about equal.
If I had to decide between those two, I'd get a 9800pro.

Yeah but..

That article shows that the o'ced 5900xt(480/950) beats the Radeon9800 xt in many cases, and it has 256mb... So what can you tell me now?

no that link just shows the performance with the 5900xt on top.
If you read the top of the page right above the graphs it infers that higher is better.

Clocked to 5950 speeds it beats a 9800 pro but otherwise it is was the next geforce 4 4200.(now its the 6800GT)

Ya, I know higher is better... The 5900xt was higher. Thats why I was really surprised, and began to wonder..

If you plan on using AA/AF then the 9800 is the only choice. The NVIDIA cards take a pounding when it is enabled

wasnt there a recent article about the sapphire 9800pros only using 128bit ram? that would definitely hinder your performance.

Only a few of them. You have to check the specs to make sure.
