Im running all this currently on this PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...gclid=CK-3zYbA_8cCFUgYHwodptwJzQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

REMEMBER, THE EVGA HAS LIKE 40 AMPS, AND IM PRETTY SURE THATS THE ONLY REASON ITS PUSHING ANYTHING.

ive had 2-3 lock ups, but idk if theyre from the psu. pretty sure thats all it could be tho since its all brand new.. I have 30-60 dollars to spend on a power supply and no more. Would it be possible for someone to link me my best option... I run the video card at 70% power and the processor at 3.0.. Just to be safe. I want like 10 replys, lol. What would you do if you had this machine but were on a hardcore PSU bdget? ANY input would help. blow this thread up I beg of you, you guys have always been amazing. I will be running at stock when i finally get a little bigger PSU.... if its possible :/

PS.. I reallly hate my case :(

I also have a barely used ZOWIE EC1-a AND this 500 watt 40+ AMP PSU I will trade someone for some ram, a case, a tenkeyless Mechanical keyboard and am open to other trades also. but i beg... someone hit the jackpot and find me a PSU for this machine.. I would also like to know about my PC.. Is it top of the line? theres so much stuff out now that i dont even know whats what half the time. please, anyone. COMMENT. i need any input in the WORLD.

I really do not like the sizing of all this.. Its either huge or tiny.. I just need a BUDGET PSU to run this machine, as you can see my current one is linked, and I need to know if my computer is actually solid.

First off, use regular font size please.... This is difficult to read.

I would say you are in the boat with one of few decent units at that price range.
EVGA 500B

XFX TS 550w

The XFX TS Bronze is based off Seasonic, if it matters any.

dang.. so thats it, huh.. No off brand half reliable power supplys? :( im scared to use this. is this motrherboard good for OC?

This is a GREAT PSU. I just Dont think i can overclock with it... I wanna spend 50-55 dollars on an offbrand PSU just to be safe. what is the worst that could happen if i keep using this PSU..Did i mention that when i open a game, it acts like its being under powered once in a while. when i clock everyything down a little. its fine.
please respond. I need to order in 5 hours. http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Continuo...8&qid=1442564755&sr=1-1&keywords=power+supply

that psu is top shelf, your problem lays elsewhere in your rig, it's a little small if you have a big gpu.

OP, I fixed the ridiculous font in the first post. Using a huge font makes it hard to read, while being obnoxious.

The words "cheap" and "reliable" aren't normally used in the same sentence when it comes to power supplies. Mainly because the cheap off-brand power supplies are usually junk. In the worst cases they are fire hazards just waiting to burn up the system's they are in.

I'd recommend you stick with brands that are typically reliable (doesn't mean they don't have failures or quality control issues now and then though). With your low budget though, you may have to consider buying on the used market to get a decent unit. Not sure how much wattage you need off-hand as I haven't looked up the power requirements of your parts yet.

Really, this isn't the kind of decision that should be made in just a couple of hours. Going to need time to do research and find out what you want and what you need.

Some good brands off the top of my head:

Antec (some model lines are good, but not all)
Corsair
Cooler Master (typically good, though I remember hearing a while back that one or two of their model lines were not so good)
EVGA
PC Power & Cooling
Seasonic
Superflower

There's no trading outside of classifieds on this forum OP. That said the XFX TS 550W PSU linked above would be fine for your system. Even the one you currently have should be fine from the specs, but some of the low-end EVGA units are kinda hit and miss.

Please don't use a terrible unknown-OEM PSU for any system. If you buy one that's trash you'll just be throwing more money down the drain. Alternatively they can catch on fire (not as much fun as it sounds) or potentially kill other hardware through surges or terrible ripple suppression.

To be honest: Just something, anything from a reputable manufacturer that meets your watt/amperage requirements.. Possibly modular if you prefer not having a wad of extra cables under the motherboard tray (clean up that mess inside, less cable protrusion, better airflow)

there's my .02 *adjusted for artificial deflation*

ty didnt mean to.

How about this ?http://www.amazon.com/Xpp725-hs-Com...8&qid=1442564755&sr=1-4&keywords=power+supply

What tier is it, what do the tiers mean. ive never had any problems with the 20$ psus i would buy for REAL BUDGET 300$ gaming machines.. 400-600 wat diablotek and stuff

bulky, the top metal mesh on the top is USELESS and the pins pop off... the MB tray is trash, everything is stripped on it. the front audio jack went out. screw cooler master, straight up

I dont know whats going on with my posts.. but im looking at this one.. and this one http://www.amazon.com/Xpp725-hs-Com...8&qid=1442564755&sr=1-4&keywords=power+supply

I just dont understand how there isnt a solid 50 $ offbrand PSU thats pretty reliable. That doesnt make sense to me at all.

Everyone i know online says my PSU is junk, and that they would never put anything other than a 750 wat in their pc. my one buddy is running a q8200 and a gtx 750 ti on a 750 wat power supply.. For some reason he thinks if he trades me, his computer wont be as good... its driving me crazy. Ive even offered him money and everything, and the psu was given to him. he doesnt even know what they mean.

I've never heard of 'Sentey' as a PSU brand. I would much rather use the Corsair CXM, even if it is refurbished. Your system would be fine with a solid 550-650W PSU by the way, you don't need 700+ Watts unless you are thinking about adding a second video card at some point.

I wouldn't buy that Sentey PSU. It's got questionable specifications. Says it has 75% Efficiency, which is very odd, and probably means it's not 80 Plus certified. Plus the wattage output of the four rails based upon their specifications only adds up to 648W, but it doesn't say whether that is Peak Output or Sustained Output. So, where are they getting that additional 77 Watts to add up to 725W? I couldn't find ANY reviews of this PSU from any reputable websites that do actual in-depth hardware reviews, so that makes me very leery of this unit.

That Corsair CX750M might be alright though.

Oh, and your friend is using more power than he actually needs. He probably doesn't need more than 500-550W, unless he has a massive overclock on his CPU or a ridiculous amount of peripherals or something. Most people don't NEED 750W+, unless they've got multiple video cards in SLI/Crossfire and a high power CPU.

Ill just say what I said in a previous thread.

There are things you can probably go cheap on, but would you go cheap on the foundation of your house?
The most basic part of the foundation of a good system, is the PSU. Next is the motherboard. Those two things I would never skimp on, lest I risk problems later on.

Sentey is garbage. 75% efficiency ANYTHING is garbage.
You have $600 in GPU and CPU alone, spend 10% of that on a PSU that won't fail and destroy both of them AND your motherboard AND your SSD AND your HDD AND probably your keyboard too.
If a cheap PSU dies you run the very real risk of destroying beyond any hope of repair literally everything plugged into it or plugged into things plugged into it.
Do some math and see if that still sounds like a good place to cut $30 out.
