I value the opinions in this forum A WHOLE 'lot.
So when I ask a question, I will purchase from the answers.
Q:
Will the RAM and chipset coolers have an impact on the stability, and overclockability of my system?
Where is the best place to purchase these for overnight / Sat delivery?
I have an:
1.4 'bird @ 1703 @ 1.8v <becuase the mobo will not go any higher on voltage>
A7A266
2 sticks of 256 DDR
450w PSU
Water-Cooled w/Shim w/AS2
3 Generic HDD's
and I made a mistake and bought a CD/CDR/DVD HP combo drive
PS2 or USB Logitech Trackball
IBM Keyboard <because I can not find a new kbd that is mechanical>
and the list goes on, and on, ;)

One other thing, I put the second stick of DDR in and the thing seems to be locking up a bit more, but my load temps are just over 101f on the ASUS probe, Ambient hovers around 80f

Again, thanks for all the help you p33ps have given me over the last couple of months.

Used RAMsinks for my GF2MX and they weren't worth the sliver cuts from sawing apart an old pentium heatsink. Didn't even give me an extra MHz! Not sure about RD-RAM though but DDR RAM should be no less in need of 'sinks than SD-RAM -don't bother. As for chipset cooling, lotsa ppl have been getting more stable mobos at higher FSBs by gluing on their own converted old socket P3 or celeron heatsinks.

I have went ahead and ordered an additional 156w pelt, and while the guy had me I purchased a mobo chipset cooler, JIC kinda thing
I will report back on Saturday with the results from just adding each component. As this is my second 156w pelt I have a little more knowledge on the "process" now.

On a different note, I have some "no-name" HS that have small pelts attached to them.
Would there be any way to determine what wattage these small pelts are?
...and can someone point me to an article on pelt "stacking"?

I feel that your completly wrong about the cooling of the DDR ram becuase before i put heatsinks on my DDR ram it was only stable @ 126MHzFSB now with them i can get 160FSB (with a 1.2 athlon)

What is the speed of ur overclocked CPU now?
And what kind of HS+Fan you are using?
Because I bought a new Athlon 1.2 GHz too with a Super Orb (didn't have any other choise) with an Asus A7VE mobo, and I was interested in how high will it go.

Now that I have seen contradictory information, I must confess I have just ordered the RAMsinks to find out for myself.
I will post the results on Sat night or Sunday, as I had them Sat delivered along w/ my latest pelt for the pelt stack, and a mobo chipset cooler.
If these handle some of the stability issues with my A7A266 mobo I think it will mean alot to alot of ppl. (that's alot of alots ;))
PS
I know the stability has something in common with the DDR because one stick runs solid, add the second stick, and inconsistent lockups, and yes I have tried a different second stick. Although I haven't tried my "stable" stick on the second slot. You guys make me think, thanks again!
