1st, I just want to say that after years of hooking-up clients to broadband then comming home to dial-suck, really like.... sucked. Broadband was not there for me. Across the street? Yes. But for me? No. Tuesday I found that Comcast was finally availible. I called @ 6 PM and they installed it the next day at 2PM. Less than 24 hours. DSL reports tested to 3.05 Mbps. Woot.
So I've had my D-Link DI 614+ for over a year in anticipation of this event. What I learned is that I know how to 'Lock-down' my network. Again, securing the damned thing is NO problem. How do I open it up some? All of this bandwidth is lost if I can't get my Teamspeak server, UT server, etc, open to the outside world.
Now before you guys go crazy for me here, I'll say that I think I got it. 'Think'. Port forwarding is a concept that I only understand on paper; mostly. Add to that, D-Link seems to not forward ports, rather they allow 'Applications'.
Do you know of any good sites to walk me through the process of configuring D-Link brand equipment? I mean, I've read the manual several times (no really, I have) and I'm just not quite there with the knowledge.
