I was at the Whilpool forums and may have a chance at getting 3 boxes from one of the mods if I can solve his computer problem. My guess is a bad mobo, PSU, or maybe he needs the VIA 4in1? I don't have any experience with VIA products, but someone here should. Here's the link to the thread. Whrilpool Forums

I'd just like to point out that many i've my team are not too happy that you are trying to recruit from these forums. And any thread will likely be hijaked to benifit ocau.

The reason is, if you did not know that whirlpool is a website dedicated to australian broadband. Now many people from Overclockers Australia are members of whirlpool. And a great deal of us read the site as broadband is a very big issue in australia.

You may have noticed your original thread was bombarded with team 24 posts just after you posted it. This is to be expected as whirlpool is a site many ocau'ers visit daily.

I don't mean to be rude or anything but i think you best off not trying to recuit in australian forums.

Oh and also don't try to recriut from www.theddrzone.com that will be shot down too. And www.techwatch.com.au and www.tweaktown.com and also www.zgeek.com

But by all means don't stop recuiting from other sites. Just do some research before and make sure it will be ok with everyone. It is actually a good way of recruting.

Good luck

Cheers

It looks like you hijacked the thread to me. The Mods don't seem to mind and you picked up a couple of folders. The Mod offered his rigs to fold and if they end up for Overclockers.com we will welcome them with open arms. Please do not come in here telling us what to do just because you personally do not like it. That is just bad form. And then naming websites not to try to recruit in. If those sites moderators do not mind then I have no problem with one of our members posting for new members. Another point is that labeling us yanks or whatever is just wrong. Yes our site is based in the states but we are a worldwide forum. Please go home now. Thank you. Fold on!!!!

Oh you were finished. Well allow me to retort.

Maybe all us "assies" should consolidate our efforts and obliterate the wanks I mean yanks :p

You've got 300 million people of your own (minus "the rest of the world") surely you don't need to recruit in Australia???

That's just not playing nice. If you don't want to play nice I'm almost certain there will be someone (NOT myself) on OCAU who would be willing to recruit in your territory..

We don't even have a sporting chance, give us a break.

I did not even post it that thread thankyou so i hijacked nothing. (well maybe this thread). It started by ocau members not happy about seeing that thread there. It's not like i can control who reads what. Like i said the whirlpool fourms are very popular reading for ocau'ers. And i bet very few of you even knew about whirlpool before this day.....

Here is why you don't recruit in those other forums.

www.theddrzone.com run by 'voodoo' who is also an admin at OCAU and vocal member of our folding team.

www.zgeek.com plext runs this who is also a valued member of team 24.

www.tweaktown.com i'm sure acid who does the review there would tell you it is a no go zone. many ocau'ers post there.

what i posted was to warn your team that recuiting on some forums may not be taken very well both by forum goers and their admins.

And lastly where in the hell did i say your team was yanks. Maybe that comment was not directed at me and was a general statement. If thats the case yes i agree that labeling your team as 'yanks' is wrong. I'm sure the non aussies in my team get sick of being called aussies too. We are in the same boat in that regard.

Cheers and fold on.

Come on ppl, knock it off and grow up. First off, i've made my peace with the australians. Heck I even got an offer from the mod of that forum to put up 3 boxes for our team. So come on guys, if these guys wanna come over here and start flippin off, then let them, don't stoop to there level.

And as for you guys HIJACKING MY THREAD!!! I don't take kindly to that, i believe that i have been accepted by those over at whirlpool and may just become a resident. SO GET USED TO MY FACE BEIN AROUND!!!

I didn't go over explictly for team 32. I went over there promoting [email protected] I seen no Whilrpool team, and I seen no Folding threads. I think i have done my duty by recruiting folders, even if not for team 32. It's all for the same cause.

Now if all you guys wanna do is come here and start causin trouble t[H]ere is a place for t[H]at nonsense. ([H]int [H]int).
And guys, thx for the backup, but please don't start a war, let's keep it peaceful.

Oh ya, and just because you told me not to chestRcopRpot i'm gonna head over to each of those forums you listed, regester my name, and find my self a front row seat in the DC section.

Sorry cluster for knocking your thread off track.

Thats good that the whirlpool thread is working out. I was simply saying that posting in that site and others i listed MAY backfire on you. If they don't well good for you and your team. Some people may have misunderstood my intention.

Causing trouble is not what i intended.

And we give [h] no trouble. CIWS is a hard man to dodge if you are stirring trouble. :D We actually have a pretty friendly relationship with [h]. Even got one or 2 of them to crunch for us for 24 hours.. hehe.

please accept my apologies for any wrong doings.

cheers and fold on.

Do you know what whirlpool is??

let me enlighten you.

IT'S AN AUSTRALIAN BROADBAND SITE

How the hell can you be a "resident"? Do you have a Tel$tra or Optus cable account running 5000 kilometres across the pacific?
Sure you can log into their forums, but it just doesn't count as far as I'm concerned. Take the [H] for instance. I used to read that all the time. you know why? Because I was into hardware and overclocking. Not to mention the fact that they were around before OCAU. Hence there is some correlation there. So to say your a "resident" to me would imply for a start that you live in Australia. Enough said.

I didn't go over explictly for team 32. I went over there promoting [email protected]

Hmm this I can be lenient with. That is if you're telling the truth, which is always hard to prove regardless, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Oh, and if you don't mind, Australia starts, always, with a capital.

I don't want to cause trouble, I just don't want you colonising our target audiences. Like I said, we don't stand a chance anyway.

Don't do to us what you did to Palestine...

Yeah ok Tuppa, that probably was unwarranted. I take that comment back....

But I still disagree about the whole middle-eastern affair. (But I'll leave that for a political forum).

I am glad everything is settled now. I was responding to you and your team since you were representing your team when you came here. I was not aware that one of my teammates posted in your forum, if this is the case I appologise for that. I think your teammates were just upset because they had not done it first. I just responded to there thread over at OCAU. I hope this is over now and we can get back to folding. Fold on!!!!

Almost settled..... :D

Just a few little things i'd like to say. We have had a folding thread at whirlpool before so that is one thing that annoyed me. But the other was many of us DO read those forums. Cluster was in effect trying to recuit some of my team. And cluster did not even know what whirlpool was about.

I was not trying to stake a claim on australian sites. I just posted ones that are either highly visited but ocau'ers (such as whirlpool) or run by ocau members(the others). I could post more that have there own teams too. but i don't want to cause any more trouble. I think it would hard actually to find an aussie site that doesn't have there own team or is related to ocau in some way. But if you do find any feel free to recuit.

As far as i could tell cluster was finding these forums with google. So he couldn't have possibly known if they have a team or who is affiliated with who. I was just posting what i knew to save him the trouble of trying to recruit on site that i think would have not worked very well at all.

I think i may have worded my original posts wrong and you got the wrong idea of what i was trying to do.

Also i should have perhaps PM'd my list to cluster. I think that would have worked out better.

I hope this clears it up and we have no more :argue: between the teams. :D

Cheers and fold on. and don't forget to drink lots over easter. I know i will  :D

I can understand why the ocua members are upset. they only have a small amount of computer uses to draw from compared to us. right now there is something around 1,300 folder down there and 13,000 in the U.S. if the roles were reversed we would be ****ed too. From now on let's try to limit our recruiting to north american sites so no toes are stepped on.
