should any of my case fans be receiving power from my motherboard or should they all be hooked directly to the psu with 4 pin connections? my case is going to have 4 case fans and i need to know whether they should have 4 or 3 pin connections before i make a purchase.

thanks for all the help folks

You should go with the 4 pins because you can hook up more fans that way. Plus you dont have the risk of burning out a mobo header.

Stick with the 4 pins, and in addition try and mod your vid card to run off of 4 pins so it doesn't drink video card volts.

explorer: how would i go about doing that? would i have to use find a way to hook up one of those 3 to 4 pin adaptors or what?

also i just bought 2-80mm and 2-120mm enermax fans with manual speed adjustment. im getting ready to do my first case mod. does evermax make good case fans? i know they have a good rep in making psus, so what about fans?
