My KK266R with an Enermax 651 power supply has worked flawlessly for weeks until this morning. I pushed the on-off button and nothing happened. I fiddled with the power supply connector to the motherboard. After I disconnected and reconnected the plug to the MB, I pushed the on-off button and the power supply came on. The computer booted and ran fine. I did a shutdown and pushed the on-off button again. Nothing happened.....again. I disconnected and reconnected the plug to the MB and pushed the on-off button. The same thing happened as the first time, the computer booted up and ran fine. What a pain!!!!! I do not believe the problem is the power supply, but rather the connector to the MB. Any other thoughts what the problem may be??? Thanks.

which bios? i would use 042601. I had problems with the latest bios. yeah sounds kinda funny I hope there aren't any bad boards out there. have you guys read the energmax issue thread in general hardware. I haven't but somebody suggested this to other member. i'll look at it and see what it is about.

btw if you flash I would use another ps because you don't want your eeprom screwed.

Hi, I guess the problem is a different one. After the 686B Northbridge error another one has been found in the southbridge that causes C Athlons not to reboot... Anyway it is strange it worked that long..the problem can not exactly be soved. but the guys who found this bug said that increasing the board voltage by 5% might help in, i don't know 25% or so...there is a jumper on the KK266 for that...not all southbridges are affected..but i dont know the serial NR...have a look at the history of overclockers..i guess there was a link...also try the following: after your system doesn't reboot turn off the power-supply...not just the computer...wait a minute...and try again...if the southbridge thing is really your problem you could reconfigure your system to 100MHz FSB and the desired Multiplikator...sure it slows things down but this bug seems to never happen with B Athlons
