I have an old 250 watt p/s lying around and I decided to use it to power the way too many fans I have. Well it worked fine for the first few mins but after that when I tryied to jump start it using the wire trick on the motherboard connecter it would not power up the fan would move a little and thats it everytime i did it thats what happened. The thing couldn't have died from the power it was giving off because it was only doing 2 120's at the time which don't take up that much power. Is there something wrong with the thing that I can fix or should I trash it?

just add more stuff onto the lines off of it..

if the fans move a little, then just stop, its just a lack of power drain from the lines.. i had the same problem at first..

just hook anything you got laying around up to it..

i even got an older intel socket coolers on mine to drain some more power..

if you got the room, just hook up a harddrive or floppy to it or something.. it should work
