Alright, i have an Asus A7V133 mobo, and i had a 266fsb amd t-bird 1ghz CPU that was overclocked to 1.4ghz (9.5x148 ). Then, i foolishly started up my computer, went into BIOS, and changed the VCore setting from auto to 1.85!!! I dont know why the damn hell i did that, but now when i start my comp, it gives me one long beep and then shuts off by itself...HELP PLEASE OH GOD, IM GONNA CRY!!!!!!

Ya, i touch both the solder point to clear the cmos with a copper wire touching both sides, but when i do that, i can't turn on the comp, only when i take teh wire off can i turn it on, and still it doesn't work...

maybe if you try setting the jumpers manually for the voltage regulator output setting. setting the jumpers on the board has always worked better for me when over clocking instead of using the bios. make sure you switch the jen to 1-2 refer to your manual pg 18.

Well, i tried setting the jumpers manually but that didn't work, i did take the power supply out from the motherboard, cleared the CMOS and that ddin't work. There are just these two solder point to clear the cmos, i just touch both with a wire...Please guys help me, this is a brand new system, PLEASE!!!

I have had a similar experience with mine. Try removing the CPU chip, clearing the bios and replacing it exactly as it was. Be sure to remove power and ground yourself.

Make sure your jen jumper is in the "jumperless" position.

Thanks a lot guys, but it turns out that i fried teh CPU. Whats unbelievable is that i fried it with 1.85 Volts, thats stupid. Anyways, i was lucky enough to get the retail box version of the t-bird because the oem ran out. So the store i bought it from sent it back to AMD and HOPEFULLY they will fix it and send it back within 2-4 weeks....Sigh

everyone please pray and hope for me...

Another way you can clear the BIOS on this board is to unplug the power supply and then simply pop the CMOS battery off of the motherboard. Leave it out for 10 minutes or so and everything will be reset. I had to do this a couple of times when pissing around and the system wouldn't come back.

If I read what you said correctly you powered the system up with the solder points shorted...that isn't a good thing to do and could have fried the CPU then. The shorting of the solder points should only be done with the PS unplugged. It clears the volatile memory of the CMOS which is sustained by the battery.
