So I thought it's been a while since I tested my RAID0 (two 30gb vertex). back then, it was hitting 338-407mb/s average (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=611048&page=2&highlight=ocz+vertex+30gb). now i am still getting high marks on HD Tune (375mb/s), but Crystal Disk Mark is substantially lower(268mb/s). I tried running the test three times and they all came out about the same. Anything I should be worried about. It seems a tad bit slower than new drives but not much difference, if at all.

You really should be using a better benchmark for SSD's, like AS SSD.

Different tests, different results, this is normal.

What firmware do you have for your drive?

ATTO or Crystalmark are the ones I heard are the best for SSD. I havent heard of AS SSD, but if it has SSD in the name, it should be solid.

do these numbers look normal for RAID0 (2-OCZ Vertex 30gb)?
is it time to wipe the drives clean?
Trim can not be performed on RAID drives, correct?

The numbers look decent but that HD Tune graph is pretty spikey, might want to secure wipe 'em.

No TRIM on SSDs until the RAID controller makers start releasing drivers or firmware that allows it.

Reposting this since I got timewarped......

No, you would need the GC firmware with a RAID setup.

FW 1.3 is GC so ok there, FW 1.41 is newer and more agressive with the GC but 1.3 will work in raid ....

Enable write back cache if you havent allready & make shure you are on the Intel sata ports & not marvell or jmicron or any other raid support if your board has it ....

Best to have both drives on sata port 0&1 or 1&2 ( whatever your board calles the first 2) and optics on sata port last if possible...

to change the firmware (go to 1.4), i'd have to make a disk image (like norton ghost), then wipe them clean and flash the drives, correct?
