From the main overclockers.com news page, I read that Intel will be implementing a price reduction on select processors.

I saw that the Intel P4 2.53 would receive a 20% decrease in cost on November 10 (acording to the chart).

Is this correct and when exactly would the price cuts be reflected in the price of the processors being sold at the retailers (namely Newegg)?

I'm pretty anxious to order my p4 2.53 system which I have all the parts selected for so a prompt reply would be very much appreciated.

Stores that list the 3Ghz part now have reduced their prices on other cpu's already at least around here.

the current pricing on the as yet unreleased 3.06 P4 is AU$860.(US$430)
it was previously ~AU$1400

EDIT: corrected prices.

it turns out the prices i quoted before may be totally wrong.

the person i got the info from is saying his wholesaler is now pretty sure that's incorrect and the price will be about the same as previous. (AU$1400)

he's trying to get confirmation.

any significant signs yet ...?

Today´s the 18th Nov. - are there any significant signs yet of a P4 price drop?
Waiting for a cheaper 2.4B or even a 2.53 (C1:s of course ...)!
:(
