Prime 95 and Curing?

I just re-applied my HSF to my little Athy Xp 1800+ with some newer AC3, I was reading that after you freshly install the HSF that you should torture test (full load) the CPU right away? Is this correct?

I went ahead and started it right after the applying, and its running rock stable even as its running right now and im typing this, hehe. I will tell you one thing, it is very hard to cool a CPU in Las Vegas where the ambient temps are much higher then everywhere else in the country! Still, at FULL LOAD with Prime 95 im hitting 44c. I idle around 36c.

Question #2, how long do I run Prime after installing the HSF for it to cure properly? Thanks in advance!

it'll take 3-4 days to cure...

whether it's under load or not, I don't think it matters.....

and did u properly clean your hsf before applying the new paste?
