I was wondering if anyone else had had strange problems with the clock on their Asus motherboard. I've been able to narrow it down a bit and it's not a windows problem.

Basically, sometimes the machine starts with a really strange time/date (eg in 1999 or 2080, at midnight usually). Once correcting this in the BIOS, I rebooted and immeadiately went back into the BIOS and the date was screwed up again (hence me saying that it isn't Windows). Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?

BTW, I also don't think it's the battery as the motherboard correctly remembers all other settings.

In fact, I've just had the clock change forward one hour whilst in Windows. Very strange!

Cheers,
Andy

I too have the same board, but that's a new one to me. I've never seen that happen but then again I've never looked for it. I'll keep an eye on my clock. In the mean time, you might want to pull your battery and put it back in. Reset everything in you BIOS and see if the problem persists. It's a pain but it's worth a shot. Let us know.

Yeah, you're right. It is worth a go. I was planning on doing this but it was the fact that it would happend without an interrupt in the power as well (ie a reboot). It is worth a go though. If I find anything I'll keep you informed. BTW, heard nothing back from the email I sent Asus support. Not too happy about that!
