Hi, today I just hooked up my watercooling system. I put some dielectric grease on the socket and put a cold plate on the cpu and then the TEC and then the waterblock. I had artic silver between everything. once I had everything plugged in the computer would not post. Nottin would appear. Oh ya I did the pencil trick on the cpu, I figured that is the problem so I used an eraser and took the lead off, but still nottin happened. I took apart the whole system and tried again but still no go. I have no idea what the problem is, I cant seem to find anything wrong, I don't know if its the chip or mobo that is at fault. Can someone please let me know if they have ever come across this problem or know what could be wrong. Thanks in advance.

well, one thing that comes to mind is the cpu core. inspect it carefully and see if its cracked anywhere. that would be my personal guess, but i hope its something less permenant thats wrong with it. might wanna check all power cables tc in the case if you removed anything when installing the water system.

Ya, that seems like the most likely thing at the moment. I cant seem to find any cracks on the surface, but is there any chance that it might have any internal cracks, which are not visible ?

Because if it is the cpu then its no problem, I can return it and get another one. If its the mobo too I am not sure if the store will take it. This is my big concern. Most likely I will take only the cpu in tomorrow and get an athlon and try that on the mobo, and if it works, I will be happy if not, then I am not sure what I will do.

Sounds like it could be the Bios needs to be cleared. I would try that first.

Also how many watt power supply are you using and do the fans turn?

Do you have a seperate power supply for the TEC?
It seems like you have a lot of "stuff" in your system and TEC's can use a lot of power. AMD has a rep for being hard on power supplies.

I go have a separate power supply for the TEC, and my main PS is 300 watts. Nottin was working, and I was really tired :) so I cleaned up the chip and the mobo, and took it to the store and returned it. They get me a bran new mobo and I got a athlon 1.33GHz cpu. I am pissed that is had to spend all this money, but I needed a computer for work. Hey thanks for all your help guys, I guess it was some freak thing that happened. Oh well.
