A friend from my work said there was a program that tells you your computers spec's and a whole bunch more about stuff but i forgot what it was called, anyone know?

If you can find someone with a copy of AIDA32 (I think they shut the website down)

That's what I always run. It is/was freeware and if you want a copy PM me and I'll either email you the setup prog (I don't remember how big it is but not very) or I find someplace to upload it so you can grab it off the net.

I think you're right, because I downloaded everest because of the suggestion earlier in this thread and when I fired it up I thought I had started Aida by mistake.

One difference I noticed though was that Aida read my Athlon (Barton) 2800+ as 6.25 X 333 while everest read it as 12.5 X 166. Funky.

Try either Cpu-z, or Sandra.

Cpu-z is quick and easy, tells you what you need to know (clock speeds, memory speeds, other info, not to in-depth)

Sandra is real cool cause it gives you all your computer stats and also has benchmarking. It also has a thing called a performance tune up wizard. It basicaly scans your computer and then tells you what you can do to make it run better.
