you mite have a problem with how far the drives are away from the mobo, you mite hafta buy super long ide and fdd cables, and you mite want to put your hdd rite next to the mobo....

It's not heavy now, but it doesn't have hardware in it yet.

As far as the cables. Well I really didn't think of that, so I went back out to the shop and looked. I think the 24" IDE cables should work with no problem. Hopefully:)

Post some info on how the case is held together. I have been thinking about a project like that myself. Also what/where/how is the plexiglass tubing?

Kyle

The case is welded together with EDC. You can get it at the hardware store or any place else that sells plexiglass. It's called by some other names as well. You basically clamp your pieces together put a couple of drops of EDC, wait a little bit and BAM! It's welded together. As far as craftmanship is envolved, practice, practice, practice. I have several tributes:) to my craftmanship taking up space in my shop:)

The plexiglass tubing is welded together with EDC and then I seal it with high heat clear silicone. I got the plexiglass tubing here locally (SP&G). They sure are proud of it. One 24" piece of 4" pipe and one 12" piece of 3" pipe with tax was around $70.

Obsidian Water God *Update*

Ok Guys I finally got some time to work on the OWG today. I got the MB(Epox 8KHA), DD Maze2, and my Eheim 1250 pump installed in the case. Connected everything with 1/2" silicone tubing. The shower head is off of an Ortho yard sprayer (I guess my wife will know it's missing when she waters her garden again:) ). It has a bunch of small holes and would fit in my bong with out blocking of to much of the air flow out. The contraption you see the head attached to is something I came up with so it would be easier to adjust the height of the head and be able to center it. Sorry it's only primered right now but will be black like the case when I'm done. Well enough of me rambling, here are the pictures.

Here is another picture. So far no leaks, but I'm gonna let it run all night to make sure:) Also for anyone out there running a bong cooler, is the spray pattern coming out of my shower head look OK?

That thing is so sweet! Man...it gets me excited just thinking about it! Holy crap man. Good work! You should try it with and without the rad btw. Just to see which yields better temps. Chances are that you're better off without it, but if your engineer friend says so then he's probably right. Who knows until they try though, right? This is something crazy...just like Pepsi! Someone give him a title!!!

I would take care and be sure to filter that air that's coming in. You don't want to get your precious beauty all nasty. Something that pretty comes with a price--maintenance! Maybe a nice anti-bacterial solution would be nice. Aquarium store?

JoeCrappa there is a aluminum mesh filter between the fan and radiator. The cooling solution is deionized water and Water Wetter. Should I add something else to the water?

you mite have problems with evaporation and stinkyness with ww in there.... maby just go distilled water and some antibacterial stuff from the fishy store... and all that water is gonna get expensive... id say your gonna go thru a galon a day.....

I have been doing a lot of work with clear acrylic tubing with my Twister Bong. Fun stuff to work with isn't it? I thought about the heated air it didn't work with mine it just steamed up things, although it is possble I didn't have enough air flow ........humm.
Nice looking stuff keep us posted.

Dude that is awesome!!! How long did that take you to do? How much does that cost? How thick is the plexi? Is the water loud? I wish I got the tools and time to do that. BTW I wouldn't put anything in the water, I don't think WW is good for you plus its smell really bad.

How long? That is hard to say. I work on it when I get a chance. I started about a month ago and this is as far as I've gotten in that time:) The 2'x4' sheet of black acrylic plexiglass, 2' of 4" acrylic tube, and the 1' of 3" acrylic tube was $100. The plexi is 1/4" so are the tubes. As far as tools go, all you need is a table saw, a Dremel, A Drill, a scraper for the edges, and sanding block with some 400 & 1000 grit sand paper.

Forgot to reply to your other question about the noise. It's not loud at all just water trickling, slight hum of the pump and the Sunon fan. Of course this is with no sides on it. That will be the last thing.

Thanks Pepsi. I really enjoy reading about and seeing your twister bong. Ever thought about building a case and putting it inside:)
