Has anyone here ever disassembled the connector on a Dualshock 2 PS2 controller without completely destroying it in the process? I am trying t pry the thing open but these things appear to be put together tight. Any suggestions?

heh damn, just looked at mine, that looks pretty darn tight!

I'd leave it as is, unless it's messed up, in which case it wouldn't matter if you end up destroying it cuz it's already messed.

If it's just for science...I go by the rule, if you can't afford to replace it, don't mess with it.

Well, Ive decided to just cut the connector off and resolder new wires to the existing ones. I think that the cable has gotten pretty shabby (exposed wires and such, dont let siblings use your controllers ;) ). Needless to say, I'm going to make an attepmt to replace the cable with a homemade one. Needless to say, if I fail then all the more reason to get a wireless controller.
