is there a way to change a ps2 controller to connection via a serial port, or some other way then buying an adapter?

thank you very much, I though there would be a driver/software side but didnt include it but thank you for the link

$24 is way too much

Dc5e, do you know what the pin diagram is?

Even with the 2 controllers?? Anyhow that was just a quick search to show what the USB controller would look like. Im sure there are cheaper ones out there.

[thread revival] What about "alternate" controllers?
Like, in my case, a steering wheel? I know someone who wants to sell his mint condition steering wheel to me for 10€, but since I don't play on my PS alot anymore... ;)
And I think it'd be quite cool to play some of my games with...

Radio shack has PS2 controler to USB adapters for 10 bucks i think. Comes with nice software, its what i use.

yes go with converters. alot better than having to cut off your ps2 end and go swimming through colored wires. but hey if you have the time and want to destroy a controller/steering wheel go ahead.

hey but does the buttons work as accurate as when the controller is connected to the PS2 considering that the button are pressure sensitive on the PS2?

not yet, I realized the pc I wanted to use this for doesnt have usb so converter is out of the question, and I know I have an old parallel cable, but I couldnt find it, so I will have to look again when I have time, and I have an ps2 extension cable and iron and solder so I have all the parts to do it for free, just have to find time and missing cable

dang bro, you must be living in the stone age....usb has been around forever. all i can say is good luck. my suggestion, its better to get a converter, buy a new mobo because it must be ancient to not have USB.

it's an amd 333, my main pc is only p3 733, it's sad I know, just broke is all
