the other day i was playing NFS carbon and -1/2(hours) into the game then my screen goes black for no reason for 10 seconds, later picture comes back again. now that was weird if u ask me. i dont know if is a bad sign that my system is gonna go bad in a few days or months. i still have the warranty from walmart but they only have the 60gb version and i dont know if should invest another $160 dollars for a 60gb. should i wait or should i go for it? suggestions welcome :) .

Ps. anyone having problems with their systems lately?

unless you really want the space or wireless or the card readers(which are awesome btw) then i'd just wait. you can easily just put a sata 2.5" 5400rpm laptop hd in to upgrade that, and i'm sure you can use usb card readers or usb wifi, i'm not sure if you can but it's worth a shot, can always take it back.

i got a 60gb originally to sell and then later buy another one but i kept it b/c i couldn't wait and i haven't had any problems at all, i leave it on 24/7 and have never had a problem

I've heard of the same issue you're having happen with other people and it is not a sign that the PS3 is going bad. Sony is having some problems with particular brands of TVs where the refresh rate is screwing up and it's dropping the video signal here and there. Getting a new PS3 would solve nothing. Hopefully they'll fix it via firmware. Microsoft is having a similar issue with the 360 running in 1080p mode and have already released a patch. It fixed about half of the affected TVs, they're still working on the others.

does PS3 have AA? because i dont see any smooth lines when i play NFS carbon.

thanks for the replies :)
yes it does, depends on what game you are playing though and if it's running hd or sub-hd resolutions as to what level of aa is applied.
