a few good points were made here. p4's do throttle themselves - so there should be no worries on overheating. if you are worried about it harming your computer use a little common sense. don't do it then. i'm being very serious.

i got my ibm tp a31 1.9p4 for 600 dollars - so even if it does die on me its not a terrible loss.

also, to keep your screens clean there is a cleaner (by kensington or fellows) out there that does a great job. retails for under $5 so look around - generic name of 'screen cleaner'.

Or just use a very small amout of water on a cotton rag(baby diaper) key word is small here. dont make it to wet, dont use windex.

No, not on a laptop display. As the link stated it takes away clarity.

It is true, it will dull the screen from the ammonia.
